Interview with the Undisputed Mortal Wrestling Champion – Deadblood

Michael Cole: “I’m now here with the former Absolute Undisputed Champion and current Undisputed Mortal Wrestling Champion. Welcome, Deadblood.”

Deadblood: “Thank you, Cole. And thank you for being sure to point out that whole former champion thing. I really appreciate it.”

Cole: “My apologies. But I suppose that while we’re on the subject, I’ll go ahead and start with, how do you feel after Darkspade won the Absolute Undisputed Championship from you at CreatureMania XII?”

DB: “Darkspade got lucky. There’s no other way to put it. He thinks he’s this dominating force in this business and in the past, maybe he was. But that was the past, Spade, and now, you’re just a fucking dinosaur. A dinosaur hoping to catch a scrap from the younger, better generation. You managed to get a pretty good scrap too, the best really. But all dinosaurs go extinct eventually and I think your time’s about up. It just won’t be a comet that puts you out of your misery. It’ll be me, the first ever double Undisputed Champion in CW!”

Cole: “Do you having anything to say in response to Darkspade saying you sat down like a good dog at CreatureMania?”

DB: “I’m not sure how I sat down. Spade being a dinosaur, maybe he just got a little confused about what happened at CreatureMania. Sitting down implies that I gave up, but I remember the match ending right after I smashed my Undisputed Mortal Wrestling title into the back of his head. Is that why you don’t remember, Spade? Did I hit you too hard in the head? Just go watch the match again on the CW Network if you need a reminder. Only $9.99, right Cole?”

Cole: “That’s right! And anyone who signs up this month get a coupon for a free Cup of Nom Noms! Anyway, Darkspade also said that Sheri always rescues you. Do you have anything to say about that?”

DB: “I won’t deny that Sheri’s been helpful in the past, but I think beating Gojinn and Kizmat in that Three Stages of Hell match at the 15th Anniversary Show proves that I don’t need her at ringside. That’s not to discredit her, of course. And unless Arcane decides to ban her from ringside, she’ll continue to accompany me if she wishes to.”

Cole: “Alexander made a pretty controversial decision to make Gojinn the special guest referee in your match at CreatureMania and you didn’t sound happy about it in your pre-match interview. Have your feelings changed at all since then?”

DB: “Not really. In fact, after that… ending, I’m sure Arcane had a good laugh about it backstage, especially when Gojinn dropped me on my head on the ramp with that piledriver. Our future together is uncertain. But if he does decide to continue… hindering me, he needs to remember that I’m still the rightful holder of the Undisputed Mortal Wrestling Championship, a title I know he cares about immensely.”

Cole: “I agree that Mr. Arcane should remember that before making any decisions about your future, but you don’t currently actually have the title belt. What do you plan to do about Gojinn stealing it after your match against Darkspade at Creaturemania?”

DB: “I plan to do the exact same thing Spade plans to do: go after my title. Twice now since his return, Gojinn has fought me. And twice now, he’s lost. He couldn’t beat me in a match for the titles, so he stole them. It makes me wonder if Arcane did that intentionally. Who knows who he cuts deals with anyway? Maybe he put Gojinn in that position as referee just so he could run off with the titles after Spade and I beat each other senseless. None of that really matters now though. What matters is MAD, on Sunday, where Gojinn’s going to get what he’s got coming to him.”

Cole: “Gojinn’s been represented by Kevin McKain since his return. Do you think McKain will try to pull some strings to protect his client while he’s in possession of the titles?”

DB: “He might try, but his words can only do so much. One thing I know for sure though is that after the titles have been retrieved, Gojinn will disappear again, only to return maybe a month or two later. He’ll blabber on about how he’s the King. Or should I say, McKain will blabber on for him. And he’ll want yet another match against me for my titles. That is plural, Cole, because I do plan on having that Absolute Undisputed Championship back in my possession by then. I’ll be glad to beat him a third time too. And a fourth time a month or two after that. And a fifth time. And a sixth! And I’ll continue to kick his royal ass in any kind of matches he wants because he’s as much of a threat to me as his doppelganger, Queen Gunjinn!”

Cole: “What did you think of Darkspade’s comments towards Gojinn in my interview with him?”

DB: “I’ll give credit where credit’s due: Spade, you managed to get some laughs out of me. And what else is there to really say? It’s all true. It should probably be written down too that this is the first and probably only time that Spade and I will agree on something.”

Cole: “Do you think then that we’ll see you and Darkspade actually work together to deal with Gojinn?”

DB: “I wouldn’t count on anything official happening. We both hold a belt the other wants. In this business, whenever someone wants a title belt someone else has, it’s impossible for an alliance between them to truly exist. But say if there’s a situation where we both happen to be there to deal with Gojinn, then maybe. Never say never. That doesn’t mean I won’t turn on Spade and attack him too in the next instant. We might have a common enemy. It doesn’t change the fact that we’re also enemies though.”

Cole: “Is there anything in particular that we should expect out of you at CW is MAD this Sunday?”

DB: “Am I even in a match this Sunday? I don’t know. But I will be present for the event and I will be keeping an eye out for Gojinn. He might be scarce. He tends to keep his distance when he knows someone’s looking for him. I guess I don’t really blame him in this situation. You’ve got me, the current best in the business, and you’ve got Darkspade, the best in this business about a decade ago. Spade might be far past his prime, but he’s still less of a coward than Gojinn and that automatically makes him better in my book.”

Cole: “Thank you for sitting down with me again, Deadblood.”

DB: “No problem, Cole.”
