CH.14 Main Thread: The Employer Arc: Act 1

[The Employer]

Then the scene changes...

Almost like you are in the middle of a dream and waking up-- that moment when you're unsure if the reality presented to you is real and yet you are screaming at the top of your lungs hoping that your body awakens from sleep paralysis.... There is a fog, you see that you are in a forest, there are some people apparently arguing, you can only make out that one of them has goat-like horns.

Your view turns over to the left and in the distance is a figure cloaked in a long, dark ominous robe....




that figure reaches out but it then taken back by some unknown force preventing it from moving in further.... and with that.....


The scene returns to Charon and Brandon at the Technocracy.

[Mamud]

Brandon, Charon and Mamud all watch as their first idea is flown away on the wings of a demonic asshole.

"Charon, you want the power to seal this distortion, do you not? And to stop these from opening?" Mamud asks, while picking up a beast, ripping its wings off, and throwing it's bleeding body into the nearest group coming towards her.

"More skills are always welcome, sure!" Charon pants, shooting a nail into the brain of one fiend, rolling past the claws swiping at her to lethally shoot three more. "These are basically cardboard, but I don't see them stopping anytime soon. I thought you didn't know how to close this though?"

"Good enough! Obed Marsh, I call upon you to fulfill your own Pact to ensure a Guardian at the Gate. Charon Death has announced her intention; the Guardian of Wickedness stands empty. She is your candidate."

Pausing briefly in her murder spree, Charon stares at Mamud: "Wait, my intentio--"

"Tap tap no trade back" Mamud intones.

Obed's ghastly face phases into being above the distortion. "Charon Death: It is given to me to ensure the Gates have Guardians. I have heard your welcoming of the power of the Guardian: to seal the lesser powers from the world. As none currently stand at the Crossroad, I anoint you Guardian of Wickedness! Retain it for as long as you can, as long as you want to."

The distortion immediately ceases. Charon feels like she's falling again; her awareness feels like it's doubling, and memories of an alternate past begin to return...

[The Dark Sincentius]

Suddenly, as you are watching all of this unfold mysteriously through the CWapp... your LED screen flickers and goes from white to black to white again then fades showing an odd face.....
"..... you do know what these visions are. Am I... am I Eddie?"

**The Dark Sincentius in all of his omnipotence raises his chin and takes a deeper drag from his cigarette.... "Heh. And what gives you that idea? What allows you the right to a name at all I wonder?....

"Your abstract response to my question is all I needed to hear to confirm my suspicions that I am Eddie... makes sense... I mean, I am certainly at least one of these kids... and I am not Spade or Damien because, well, every time that Eddie has done something wrong I get these massive headaches.... but what I don't understand is the meaning behind the visions.... I am sure that you have some answer to those as well..... I also figured, that YOU are my employer... If I was eternally damned to repeat a hell as I was, why is it that YOUR existence put a pause to that?"

**Grinning more at each passing moment, The Dark Sincentius throws the butt aside and placed his right hand on The Figure's right shoulder. "Very good that your senses have come back to you, Eddie.... but the part you got wrong was that I am YOUR employer.... we both work for the same person.... when you find out who that is- I am sure you will find it fondly more interesting that if it was me."


Before the Figure could respond- Serin was hiding behind an old cauldron as a demonic entity was looking for him... Serin tried to remain silent and calm but he couldn't hold in his weeping-- that was all the demonic entity needed to find the child!!!! The demon tossed the large cauldron to the side revealing poor defenseless Serin...



????: FINALLY. I have you. YOU will be my ultimate sacrifice to fulfilling MY destiny....

Then at that moment, Spade came rushing into the temple and sees the demonic entity looming over his brother.... the future Eddie with The Dark Sincentius watching on were both silent at first- but the future Eddie tried desperately to make a dash over to Serin and knelled to the ground... The future Eddie did what he could to warn Serin to get out of there- but it was useless..... That was when The Dark Sincentius said "..... did you already forget? that what you are witnessing are just mere echoes of the past - you are just seated watching these events unfolding like a movie projection and nothing more... now stop embarrassing yourself to your employer and get back into line!"

The Future Eddie ignored Sincentius and continued to defy his command - there seemed to be a breakthrough when Serin got up slowly to escape, as his brother, Spade, confronted the demon...



"I am NOT afraid of YOU!!! YOU GET AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!!"



**The demon turned around and its face was shown from the faint light- the light's source came from the cracked ceiling radiating from the emerging sunlight....



"????: Ah. Spade of Death.... What a treat it is to finally meet you- Children of Destiny...."



Elsewhere....

** Red Spyder contemplated what The Dark Sincentius just revealed- that in fact Red Spyder was Eddie but who was the Employer? and why were these visions so significant?

"I AM DONE playing your games Sincentius... I DEMAND to see this Employer.... I DEMAND to be released from all of this....."

** The Dark Sincentius was enjoying himself more and more as Red Spyder's frustrations escalated over the roof- and with that, Sincentius whipped out yet another cigarette and pointed to the visions in-front of them.

Serin was hiding behind an old cauldron until a demon tossed the large cauldron to the side.... Red Spyder recalled he tried to warn Serin but it was fruitless as these were just visions of the past. Instead, Red watched as the child Spade of Death emerged to confront the demon....









**His heightened energy also changes....
LEAVE my brother alone!!!!
- yelled Spade.











The demon rose to his feet, for the moment ignoring Serin, and with ease did he swipe his large hand in the air causing just the air molecules to cut a column straight through which was sent toppling down near Spade. Luckily Spade rolled out of the way but the demon persisted to attack by sending debris in Spade's direction until finally Spade was struck in the chest by a pieces of rubble thus pinning the child to the floor unconscious.... just mere inches from his brother Serin.




"MWWHAAAAAAAAAAAA. This is sooooooo much fun, now is it? Now.... now.... back to YOU! [points to Serin]"







????: "NO. You're messing this all up.... Lord Mortismere!"

**The demon, now revealed to us as Lord Mortismere, turns around to be within the presence of.........Obed Marsh..... however, to Red Spyder watching he has no idea who this man is.

To understand the present, one must know their past.... And now... we resume the tales from The Children of Sin and Blight of the Death family!


**Red Spyder's patience has ran out...
"...............ANSWER ME!!! WHO IS MY FUCKING EMPLOYER.... I WILL END YOU RIGHT NOW!!! STOP PLAYING WITH ME!!!"








The Dark Sincentius flings his cigarette down to the floor and slowly presses his boot on top of the butt and snuff the fire out....
"Certainly, go ahead and ask them yourself...."

Red Spyder's eyebrow lifts and at that moment a cold icy chill runs down his spine. Red turns around and through the darkness of the forest- its surrounding trees and shrubs- walked out a figure cloaked in a long black robe.




FINALLY.... FINALLY.... some answers! - Red thought. But as The Employer pressed ever forward, Red Spyder was feeling more and more uneasy and even helpless- clearly whoever this was had an unsettling presence and power. Finally. The Employer was within several feet of Red Spyder- its height was not so much, perhaps little over 5'10" but Red Spyder gripped his fist and finally spoke.



"I don't care who you are, but I am NO slave and I am done playing your ga--"





The Employer raised its right hand which caused the entire area to tremble-- time was already still and the evironment faded from the forbidden forest and temple into a dark void where The Dark Sincentius was not allowed to be present.



You belong to me and to me only. The Dark Sincentius took you here, although I am aware of your plot to escape your ill-eternal fate, to witness the Blight of the Death family-- that event set the stage which, you my servant, are still paying for.




"How much of 'I don't give A SHIT' do you not understand?!"


The Employer hauntingly explains.... "I will re-explain, you are not my employee, anymore, you are my servant. YOU failed to change fate, to allow my children to exist, that was YOUR second chance. YOU played a role in their anguish and for THAT you will atone for your sins for eternity... unless"


"Unless? unless you actually give me a clear answer and stop playing riddles with me?!"








"......... I can do much, but there is too much to do. I can only influence others to do what I desire in the service of Righteousness. If I will it, by employing you- you can change all of our fates."






"So, you came all of this way to offer me another job?, that I have no clue wtf you are asking of me... Well you can take this job and SHOVE IT!"



The Employer shakes its head. Then, it seems, there is much more convincing required of thee. Very good. The Dark Sincentius can continue showing the Blight in all of its glory.... when you are ready, call out to me."


Before Red Spyder could say another thing, The Employer and the void all disappear leaving The Dark Sincentius puffin on his cigarette....
