After 26 years- CWE aired its first WWE 2k2* SIM/CAW match.

So this summer has produced, I think, one of the most dynamic story-driven narratives with a lot of throwbacks and hat tilts to the iconic Gates of Apocalypse era.

It also emphasizes a shift in match approach with using WWE 2k26 as opposed to match writing.

I highlighted the pros and cons many times over - the reason why I tried this different approach is it’s the same experience at SHOOT Project.

The simulation approach is something which the status-quo appears to be accepting… personally, I feel that match writing is stronger since you are not limited to what the game gives as options.

The advantage of the SIM approach is the less writing and the results are swifter and the randomness of it can be exciting.

My take: why not have both approaches as options??

When I get a chance to update the core rules- including the point system- I will keep in mind these approaches as the core functions for matches.

But overall- I am happy with the results of the match.
