The Backstory: Monopoly was actually a faction that was created to stir up the in-game environment in mid 2005. The CW gameplay was suffering from an era where not enough groups developed to feud. The old faction wars was dead. Which actually made the game stay put and hard to feud if most of everyone is on 1 faction which was Elite faction at the time.

Even though there was nothing wrong with 1 dominating faction, the problem lay with "who where their opposing faction??." Ironically, Monopoly was a way to break the monopoly of 1 and only faction.

Originally, the idea was to create a stable of powerful wrestlers that Elite could directly feud with on an equal level. But because Elite had a large number of players, Monopoly's balance came with the fact that the leader was the CEO/Chairman. The idea was to have Monopoly repeat what Degeneration-X did to some extent with storyline feuding, matches and titles. After some ground was developed, Monopoly would lose it's power to players in matches etc and re-inject the idea of a faction war. The biggest problem came immediately when players in Elite refused to a match that would setup Alexander Arcane playing the role of Vince McMahon? on WWE. It was to be an actual gameshow-type of a match set for a PPV.

The purpose and even trust behind that match idea was overlooked and took the wrong way. Instead, a match was created mostly from Elite members that had nothing todo with the original concept.

Unfortunately, Monopoly suffered from being taken the wrong way from the start. The balancing act of 2 players VS 5+ just wouldn't work w/o the edge of what Monopoly was suppose to be. Instead, it dwindled into a CW backstory where Alexander eventually became the Undisputed Champion.

Even though Monopoly was a faction failure, it DID accomplish a few great things. For one, it help pushed it's few members: Rick Astin and James Dean into the next level as incrediable high-card characters. Also, Monopoly developed a legend with it's name as being a very experimental, influential and avant garde for it's time.

The Storyline: Alexander Arcane is on a rampage! He wants to see Elite completely destroyed and see who is the real king! With the ECF Chief, Kizmat, Rick Astin and James Dean- Monopoly is set to completely take over creaturewrestling.

But, we soon find out that Alexander's true motives behind Monopoly was to obtain the Undisputed title and forever cement himself as the champion. This was shattered from the intervention of Gojinn, Cark and Darkspade. On CWF is MAD in Dec 2005, Kizmat sealed the final blow to Alexander's reign once and for all! Monopoly was finished.
