Creative Rights Infringed

Several times in the history of the Creature wrestling, a body of players disembarked to create their own versions of this gameplay. This always seem to happen when there are disagreements between an official and the owner of CW and mostly, if not all, sparked over 'who owns what.'

The action of creating a 'version' of CW was not necessarily the crime (as sense with every concept in this world is based on another. CW supports players in good faith to create their own inspirations including their own e-feds), but rather, the intent and purpose was the crime. E-feds are very common and plentiful across the net- so many ideas have indeed already been discovered, however, when a player chooses to purposely rip off the CW e-fed it is referred as an act of war and a violation of creative rights. On the internet, it is often difficult to enforce copyright infringement of one's work because it exists in public domain.

However, the people who intently create an e-fed based on CW's themes/concepts/mechanics do so without any care over what they are doing to the original product or to the artists' creative rights. One of the defining reasons why this happens is that sometimes players become drunk with ego and selfishness, and think that by slapping together a message board or website- that they can take from the CW while at the same time degrade it. The bottom line truth is if it wasn't for creaturewrestling, this genre wouldn't have existed. Sadly, the case seems to always come up over 'who owns what' and the initial idea of having fun with the game is washed away.

Leaving On Bad Terms Harms The Genre.... NOT Make It Any Better

What is further ironic is if these players didn't leave on bad terms or caused such a controversy with their efed based on CW, that CW would have supported their creations and worked together to come to a resolve. This would have allowed an expansion of this genre instead of exploiting the genre for self gain and personal victory. The world of CreatureWrestling has always been a creation of player's efforts overall, but their creations wouldn't have had the opportunity to be created if it wasn't for the organization that housed them. There are underlining morals and respect towards the original product. When the respect is broken, a sparked/heated engagement between CW and ex-players that left on bad terms happen that in the end harm the genre.

Often times, innocent people that wish to be neutral and have nothing to do with any of the politics and arguing are affected the most. It is because of that fact that CW tries to keep a low profile and run the e-fed with respecting the player's wishes. However, at times, CW is provoked or human feelings creep through when a false statement was made or when infringement happens. CW will defend it's stance on infringement through it's statements and continual effort to resolve differences.

Actual "E-Fed" Wars

The only official act of an E-fed War was when a set of officials were removed from office for bullying and pressuring the CW owner for creative rights over his own e-fed and for abusing the in-game official process and for keeping titles with their friends. The ex-officials also created turmoil (such as: spying, proclaiming false statements on the state of CWF on the rpg board, taking CWF titles on to their e-fed... etc) after they were removed from office which further supported the reason behind the removal for acting immature and harmful to the gameplay. The e-fed that they created was at first, a clear act of aggression and spite to attack the CWF. CWF in retaliation fought back. This kept ongoing for several years.

After a long dragged out and often pointless battling, both sides eventually dropped the dispute. This had a lot to do with maturity and real life realizations. During the end of the E-fed war, CWE ushered into the golden age of creature wrestling.

Closure of the CWE E-Fed in 2005

Can read more here: CWE Closure

Since then, there was yet another issue when the CWE Closed. Originally, as per player explanation, the roster was too much involved in schooling and real life to post. However, after a 5 month closure, the E-fed returned as CreatureWrestling (CW). The return also prompt an accidental discovery on the truth of what happened to the CW Closure: that another e-fed was created as a result of disagreements concerning CW columns being produced on the message boards. The ex-columnist kept this a secret even during the friendship with the CW Promoter, and when the CW was slowing down to under use. After the discovery, the other e-fed desired an all-out-war for personal as well as disgruntled satisfaction.

Prevention of "E-Fed Wars"

CW refused to an e-fed war despite constant one-sided criticism, spiteful columns, online harassments/threats and invasion of copyright on the CreatureWrestling name and it's game mechanics by the other E-Fed. CW is a professional e-fed organization and has no interests in childish antics or acts where an e-fed feeds off of drama for entertainment. Even though CW has been provoked and buttons pushed- we remain our distance and combat this the right way such as detailing the situation on wiki or through official statements. CW, in fact, tries to find ways for everybody to play peacefully- however, this is not always the case with some players as they actually enjoy the drama from arguments and wars.

How CW and It's Owner Changed As A Result

The CW organization does not recognize off-shoot e-feds as an official entity that relates to CreatureWrestling's timeline.

Today, the owner of the CW tries to make amends with ex-officials and ex-players to secure the survival of this unique genre for the sake of future generations and the sake of people that actually want to have fun on all efeds. However, there has been many times when ex-players/officials downright refuse to bury the hatch because by burying the hatch they remove the drama and reasons for a boundary. As sad as this is- it's the single most selfish act to do in these cases- this hurts not only CW's surival (company and player's roots) but the survival of this genre.

In CreatureWrestling's lifespan, 5 years of uninterrupted events and sound professionalism endured. Players enjoyed a free game as well as free service by the officials and the CW owner. CW invented amazing concepts (see concepts under main menu), matches and events that has made the game fun to play with and produce titles that actually meant something.

It is a sad and even scary fact that this genre of supernatural and natural wrestling can go extinct because people can't grow up and act like adults. However, despite the overwhelming odds of holding an e-fed together in the post-internet boom era- CW is committed to NEVER closing down it's game and website.
