Title Legacy
In 1999, on theundertaker.net (the then and only official forum used for fans of the WWE's The Undertaker)- a game was proposed by Angel of Light to spend time while UT was resting from injuries was made. The side-game was played by placing a tag beside your name when you posted. Either posted as a (FA: free agent); (H: Heel) or (F: Face) and acted out this format in your posts as a character.
The poster, Darkspade, enjoyed interacting as a villain and many posters followed his stories and in-acted a storyline. Eventually, regular posters pushed the storytellers off of the boards.
In order to preserve the genre- Darkspade created the CWF website and message board.
Darkspade also "named" Darkhag (the main board moderator) as the COTN Champion in his stories while everyone was playing on UT.net. Once Darkhag moved to CWF, a match was made between Darkspade and Darkhag for the COTN title belt. Darkspade defeated Darkhag to become the first ever champion of all time in any darkside e-fed wrestling genre: CWF World Heavyweight Championship.
CWF World Heavyweight Championship
The CWF title quickly became THE iconic title for Creature of the Night fans and players on CWF. The CWF title was exchanged a total of 12 times with several repeated reigns from players. During this time- the e-fed invented all of the standards used today in this sport.
CWE Undisputed Championship
The CWF title evolved into the CWE Undisputed title for several key reasons. When the e-fed had an influx of players come in from GTWF, the game mirrored a similar format to WWE's brands. A singular title was needed to represented the best of both brands. In addition, politics were involved in the decision to re-invent the title when an off-shoot e-fed threatened the survival of CWE by forcing an Undisputed title to be formed through a player winning two world titles. The CWE Undisputed title belt secured the concept and fact that CreatureWrestling was and is the holder of the highest title in this genre.
CW Undisputed Championship
The CW Undisputed Championship came about when the e-fed was brought back from closure in 2005. The CW Undisputed title excelled in representing not a brand, but the entire genre. However, the CWF and ECF brands were still being used in storyline and the brands had their own top title.
CW Absolute Undisputed Championship
In 2011, the title reached it's final evolutionary step as the Absolute Undisputed Championship. The title became "Absolute" when Darkspade obtained the CWE and ECF top belts... there was a conflict between the Undisputed and the CWE/ECF World Heavyweight championship. Finally, on CreatureMania X, a match was made to award the winner with the highest belt possible with a merger between the Undisputed and CWE/ECF Belts.
The Absolute Undisputed Championship belt declares that above all others in this sport- this is the finest title achievable... this belt holds the entire legacy, the evolution and prestige of the darkside e-fed wrestling genre above all others.
