Well, the main season for SHOOT Project is done.
I joined another e-Fed to benefit from player growth and to help spread the stories of here for others to enjoy. I had my reservations. Easily so, because the status quo I keep mentioning is a real thing. I get why there is one: a particular system/format that has worked for many, and they do not deviate too largely from it.
In the e-Fed world, we should adapt and make changes. This goes for practically any industry. And since eFedding simulates real pro-wrestling, it logically needs to change.
I've outlined the strengths and weaknesses of the status quo of eFedding, but my primary concern is the misconception of what CreatureWrestling entails. There are very few, if any, possibilities to change the mindset of how to run an e-Fed- even though CWE has thousands of posts and almost 30 years of proof that you do not need to have someone judge your RPs to determine a winner, etc. You can actually do this quite well by letting players decide among themselves. Sure- there are weaknesses with that approach too.
I'm glad I took the plunge and tried something outside CWE. It's ironic, but isn't that what I am preaching? SHOOT Project fits well with me. I'm comfortable with the WWE 2k2* sim approach; it emphasizes storytelling more profoundly and eliminates the issues I found troubling when you approach it as players decide. The randomized approach makes me think about how effective that is... hmm.
So, SHOOT Project is at the season's end. I do have plans to do more crossover RPs and continue eFedding with them. I will also be setting up a post here that will display all of the matches Darkspade was in.
Until next time! And 3 weeks to go btw!!!! The next Act is upon us.
